No, they can't, because you are behind a network. It would be really helpful if you posted them. You cannot be hacked from a hostname unless it ends with a real domain (like .com, .net, etc.) The only reason I want them is because I am trying to visualize the structure of your network.
And a DNS server is what your computer connects out to to resolve addresses. There is no way you can be hacked from that.
Did you try the telnet thing? Because that will tell you whether it is a DNS problem, a firewall problem, or a JJ2 problem. Please do that before you post again.
