True, we dislike the look of Jazz. And yes, it isn't very nice of them to mess up the storyline and put an abrubt, uncalled for end to Jazz's lovelife. In fact, they've transformed our hero into a completely different bunny than the one we know and love, which is why so many of us have our doubts.
However, Spaz and Lori are not crucial characters. Sure, they are fun to play as. But Jazz 1 was just fine, and it didn't have them. Jazz 2 1.23 didn't have Lori. And, IMO, Lori is a half-reared effort, she doesn't play very well and there is no advantage to using her. She can't even jump high enough in most levels.
Anyway, my point is that a Jazz game can survive without backup characters. But this game barely has the right to call itself a Jazz game. I will hold judgement on the gameplay of it till I play it myself, though. And if it is the spark that relights our candle, and renews our hope for a third game, then that is good. This is our only hope.
I am very sad that it has not been marketed. At all. Not even previewed by major gaming publications or websites (where it was only briefly mentioned.) Nor reviewed anywhere. If no one has heard of it except for us, then what hope does it bring us?
Only time shall show whether this new Jazz game brings good or ill. Let us be patient and see what happens.
