ARGH! That devil in Devan's hole IS Bubba! Don't you see? Bubba is the boss of Shareware, he is small, with sneaky eyes and pink nose! He is the main bad guy in my Devil Dash Jazz2 add-on and he has to do something with Devan! After being beaten in frozen hell, he uses Devan's body to stay alive. But when Jazz crashes Devan's torso Devan morphs into demon giving some of energy to hidden Bubba. The Bubba escapes and we fight with Devan with a hole in belly (look closely at him as event). Does that story sound clear? (heh, I imagined everything myself but I hope Epic was thinking the same).

BTW if you are talking about episode images - JSZ Spaz once drawed a episode-size drawing called "Spaz Nukem". Look at DN3D cover and imagine you see Spaz and that'll be it.
