Considering the rule in bold, I have no clue of the answers to any of those questions but one.

TSF modifies the powered up ice shots so that one shot always goes forward, instead of always to the right. If you are facing left, two shots will go left. If you are facing left and looking up, one shot will go up, the other to the left. 1.23 forced the second shot to always go to the right.

It's amazing how little I actually know about JJ2 and/or JCS, but I'll probably end up trying several of those things just to see what they actually do. I'm one to do that.
