i once wrote a story after reading this. it was along the same idea. only it was more. this just set it off in my head.
but now...well it still inspires me. i hope it helps you other aspiring authours:
"Only the constant change is permanent."
he thought, his feet splashing into pools of rainwater.
If only he could return to her; tell himself that he had
misread her.
But he had seen it; in her eyes, the anguish his love had
become for her.
Too kind to break his heart, she had tried to hide it.
But he had seen. He had reached his decision quickly, and
now he walked through the rain - alone.
