Oh, NOW I see.

The CCSF was indeed "holding out". Defalcon also noted that the militia was doing well - someone was enthusiastically flinging paint onto the forces below from the top floor of a building. Several Shellians and a shockbot were staggering around, having been brained with the buckets; the shockbot still sported a dented pail jammed upside down over its head, the rest of it splattered with flourescent orange paint. Humorous and ingenious, though not entirely effective.
The Diamond twins were advancing, guns blazing, mowing down the first few who dared oppose them. The pair were nigh to untouchable in those first crucial moments, while the Shellians were still startled.
Unfortunately, shockbots do not get startled. So while Kira and Tira were happily carving a path through the slow-reacting Shellians, a quartet of shockbots were busily flanking the feline furies.
Elexei noticed. Diving forward after the twins, he whipped one katana (thank you 4I for making me remember WHAT a katana is) up and around, smashing it into the weak waist joint of the nearest one. Sparks flew as his blade sheared through, slicing through wires and separating the bot in two. The shockbot on the same side as the now-destroyed one turned with mechanically precise movements, and proceeded to zap Elexei twice, point-blank, with its shockcharger.
The pale gold rabbit promptly diverted both blasts, and set a bolt of static electricity crackling from the tip of his katana in return. The shockbot's armor deflected much of the blast, but the shockcharger it held did not fare so well. Overloaded with a sudden influx of power, the weapon exploded in the unsuspecting shockbot's grip.
Before it could move, Tira's unusual short-range weapon plowed through it, knocking it to its scantily armored knees. Another blow laid it out, the circuitry and armor mangled. Elexei ducked as her weapon flew overhead once more, before straightening gingerly and heading back in.
