It's a decent strategy for drawing attention to good but otherwise overlooked games. The Sonic Adventure and Sonic Advance games have all been great, but generally speaking, they went unnoticed by anyone who wasn't a hardore gamer. Sonic X went on TV as a good show, it quickly became a hit series, and now people take notice of Sonic again. The show is there to boost sales of the game franchise, not to take advantage of fan interest in the games. If it worked out this well for the declining (in terms of popularity, not games) Sonic brand, maybe it could work for the all-but-dead Jazz Jackrabbit brand too.

Heck, Dean Dodrill could be on the team for it. He's got experience animating Jazz.
