Oh, in case anyone's wondering...
As far as Xion's sprites go, that's kinda a legal grey area, as you'll find if you traverse the webcomic world and find sprite comics. At best, it'd be similar to fanart or an homage to the original game. At worst, it'd be copyright infringement. Thing is, nobody's quite sure yet if it'd fall under the fair use or parody provisions of copyright law. Sure, the base of the "art" is obviously not Xion's, but neither is the base for, say, Weird Al's parodies.
The real problem in making a clear judgement here is that the legality of sprite-based art has never really been tested in court. And there's some fairly popular sprite comics out there, so you can't just say the companies haven't heard of the practice...
Though most in the webcomic world would agree that we'd be far better off if most sprite comics would go away... :-)
Thus, I'm not gonna edit and yank the images. But I will say this: I've seen better sprite manipulations. :-)
