Inspired by Disney's "Brother Bear"...
I just saw Brother Bear today, and drew this when I got home. Its based on the salmon run scene. I thought it was a very nice movie. I bet I would have really loved that movie as a kid. Transforming into animals was one of my favorite fantasies.
The movie has a bit of a different feel to it than other stuff I've watched, even other Disney stuff, so I felt a bit odd about it at the beginning, but I found it to be a good movie and the feel of the movie turned out to be one I appreciated. Furthermore, the animation was beautifully done and a joy to watch.
Halfway through making this image I was actually tempted to give up. I've had a bad behavior of abandoning or settign aside projects without finishing them, so I've got a whole collection of images and things that are only partial sketches, or sketches that are partially inked. The thing is, that I have been letting my insecurities get the best of me. I feared that after spending hours of hard work, the finished product would end up being crap, and my work would be in vain. The same kind of fear sometimes keeps me from attempting to color things by hand... But if I never try then I'll never improve. I cannot expect myself to preform without any flaws. And even when I do mess up, many great things started out as fantastic mistakes.
Oh yeah, and I decided to finally name the skunk. I call him "Ashton".
