Xion's blink is very new to him, so it is very basic.
However, the more he uses it, the better he may become. Later, he can save his entire party with a cooldown or save his own hide with no cooldown, and even later than that he can save his entire party with no cooldown.
However, since he just became a planesmage at the end of season 1, he cannot use these advanced techniques. Maybe season 3 we could see these advancements.
