Chapter E I G H T

The earthquake, comparable in size to the gigantic earthquakes in some places in earth, shook Batty Buddy off the bed.

He landed on Coppers head, still sleeping. "Owww.." With a groan, Copper slumped over.

"My companions have fallen!" Kickme shouted in agony. The, he brightened. "This is the time to recite all my bad jokes - and no one can complain!"

"Which came first, the chicken or the egg?"

"The chicken! It had to cross the road!"

"Knock Knock." To illustrate this, Kickme knocked on a nearby door. It opened a crack.

"Who's there?" came a voice from inside.

"Canteloupe." proclaimed Kickme, holding that very object up.

"Canteloupe - WHO?"

"Can't elope tonight." Kickme sniffed, as if a broken-hearted lover. "Dad has the car." Batty Buddy poked his head from Coppertop, and pulled a wand out of his backpack. "SILENCIO!!" he screamed. Kickme stopped instantly. His mouth opened, but no sound came out. He bristled with inner rage, and went into an array of special moves worthy of a fighting game. Batty dodged an eraser to the heart and many other attacks, but all great bats must fall at sometime or another.

Kickme - kickedhim.

With a moan of pain, the cartoon bat fell to the ground. Kickme stood over our heroes, triumphant, and having avenged his speech.
