I have problems with other things that are not in realtime.
Like the "new posts" icons not disappearing after you read the new posts, and sometimes I log off and come back and it shows it as being unread. Very annoying. 
I have to keep clicking "Mark Forums Read". Why would you not want these things to be in realtime?
