Right, for the sound try to find drivers at sites in this order: motherboard maker, chipset maker. One of those two should have the drivers for it.

For the internet, how are things connected (from the phone line in your house to the computer? You say you have an ethernet card, but also have DSL. That would imply you have an external DSL modem through ethernet, in which case you configure the modem with the DSL settings and the computer with just basic networking (TCP/IP bound to your network adapter, with whatever IP address the modem's manual says you should have - might be DHCP). If it's connected in a different way, then please post details.

Oh, you will almost certainly need your Win98 CD if you change *any* network settings in Win98. If windows came preinstalled then the files might be on your hard disk, usually in C:\Windows\Options\Cabs (if that folder contains a lot of .CAB files then you've got the install files there).

One last thing - there is a differende between Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition. A lot of recent stuff needs Win98 SE to work, and will not work with Win98. It should tell you which version you have on the first page of System in Control Panel.
