Yay, I'm ooooohhhhhh so late in saying this. Yay, being away for so long.

At one time, Microsoft had all the upgrades from Windows 98 to go to Windows 98SE on their site. I believe that they may still be on the Windows 98 page for Windows Update. Most recent LAN devices require Win98SE or Win98 with SE updates. (I don't really know if there's a difference between the two, my ancient PC which got those updates calls itself Win98SE.)
