I walked to the wall, and pressed the button. Creases of golden light started to form on the edges of the wall. They spread to the top and became more regular as the wall began to detach from the surrounding ones.
Araches coughed. "I would step away if I were you."
I started to step backwards as the wall lowered to the ground on newly-formed hinges and stared into the infinity of misty golden light from beyond it. I stood there for a moment, admiring how simply beautiful it was. Then, right on cue, Araches ruined the moment.
"I swear, couldn't they skip all the drama once?"
I turned to glare at her, then when I turned back I saw the glow dying down. What was beyond appeared to be a vaguely person-shaped sillouete and a blurred impression of an arm.. a person standing behind a desk, raising an arm... a dorky-looking man with acne standing behind a desk with the Chic-Fil-A logo on it, pointing to a menu hanging on the wall behind him. "Can I take your order?" the man asked in a nasal yet still somehow creepy voice.
