The Snowball of Death was something I made up to slow you guys down while Rad and Risp were still testing the upcoming battle. I had no idea who the next battle was with, so I just decided that the SoD was being pushed by the mysterious bad guy. Solstice or one of his minions was responsible for that little plot hole device.
