No rest for the wicked
First, I would have liked to have known this was a TSF file beforehand... oh well.
This level is somewhat related to the idea of a boss... it's a random cooperative level (again, information not given), with enemies, and there are a couple places where some bosses attack you and you don't kill them. It's pretty Spaz biased in one place and the eyecandy is minimal.
I can't manage to envision this level as a boss, though. It just feels like a level.
Demonic Diamonds
First off, this level gets yay points for taking advantage of the greater power offered by 8-bit color.
Anyway, this pits you against Uterus underwater, which has been done before, except this time there are spinning spike bolls and small tunnels and ammo and carrots and food dropping from the sky. So you take advantage of Uterus' initial slow mode to get rid of the spike bolls, and then attack him.
Unfortunately, the level is made a whole lot easier by the fact that you can just lure Uterus out of the water and battle him there, at which point the fight is over in a couple seconds because you have Toaster.
This level looks cool, and it has some good concepts, but then the gameplay ends up being somewhat imperfect.
Boss Conest Entry
I question whether this entry was tested, because you are in no danger for practically the whole of the level. The idea is simple - push a Big Rock far enough that you can pick up a TNT ammo, while the Tuf Boss attacks you. Then use the TNT to blow up a trigger crate which eventually kills the Tuf Boss, but sends some tuf turtles at you.
The execution, unfortunately, is horribly flawed, as I shall demonstrate with this list:
- An ice pickup is in the level, so you can freeze the rock and let it move by itself, while staying far enough away from the boss that he doesn't attack you.
- By being hurt by the boss's attack in the right place, you can bounce up into the ceiling and pick up the TNT ammo without even going near the big rock.
- The tuf turtles are unlikely to cause any harm to you, as you can hide on a vine or the far left side of the level.
The level reminds me of part of some other pack, I think it was RHG.
Unknown entry using Kansas
Given that Kansas has not been released, and the entry has been removed from the internet, I have no way of knowing what this level was like.
And because I can...
Bilsy's Lair
Odin advertises this as having been made for me, so I thought I'd mention it. This pits you against Bilsy (no surprise), but with a sloped floor and a strange [ tunnel thing on the left. However, it fails to increase Bilsy's difficulty or add any particular twist, as you can still just stomp and be immune to all of his fireballs.
Out of those, I guess Demonic Diamonds is the winner. It feels like it has some thought put into it, and it would probably play pretty insanely if you couldn't get back out of the water. Odin, do you have any interest in any of the stuff I mentioned in the first post, or should I just do you-know-what?
