And harassing him right back won't do you any favors either, in fact it will only make things worse. Everyone do things for a reason, and we can safely assume Nimrod knows what he's doing because of the great responsibility he has: maintaining the listservers.
Even so, some of the people he's dealing with (whose names I won't mention) can be quite unreasonable. They don't listen to what Nimrod has to say to them, all in the name of "fun", even if it's spoiling everyone else's fun. The latter can range from spamming, cheating, or even hacking. Some perceive it as funny, but no doubt most perceive it as annoying and best left punished. Spamming isn't punishable because it's just annoying, nothing more. Cheating and hacking however are punishable because they really spoil other people's fun by a) giving an unfair advantage b) risking damage to JJ2 or even the computer itself c) using it as means of extortion.
Here's a little scenario about what I think happened. C/H will be the Cheater/Hacker and N will be Nimrod:
C/H plays JJ2, cheating and crashing server "out of fun"
N bans C/H
C/H gets mad at N and starts harassing him, thinking it was "unjustified"
N gets mad too and bites back
Simplified yes, but we can all agree on that now, can't we?
