Okay. It's been a while, but the JCF went donw and all. :P Enjoy.

CHAPTER 10: The Dark Soldier
'All officers, report in.' Elfatine ushered his crew back to the shuttles, counting them off.
'Looks like they're all here, except for...where's Frax?'
The hare glanced back into the prison yard. A young rabbit named Frax was lying wounded, crawling slowly along the ground.
'Oh frogspawn! Someone get Frax out of there!'
Kaz sped off, pinching Elfatine's ammo belt in the process. defalcon went after him.
'It's okay, we'll be back in a tick!'

Rumbo picked up the ancient book and blew the dust gently from its covers. Sneezing violently, he opened to the first page.
In an instant, there was a flash of light as Rumbo blacked out.

Kazooie hooked the belt around his shoulders and fed one end of the clips into his blaster.
'Kaz, wait for me!' defalcon bolted towards the spot where Frax lay, panting. They arrived only to be met by a dark, sleek form.
'DIE!' The dark soldier reached his outstretched palm towards defalcon and grabbed him by the hem of his jacket. Kazooie raised the gun and squeezed the trigger, ammo pouring from the blaster end like water from clouds.
'Haha! Easier than pickling onions!'
The soldier seemed to freeze when he saw the bullets, but flicked a button on his belt.
TZZZZZZZAAAAPPPP! The bolts sizzled on a force field erected by the mysterious warrior. He strode forward and the field dissipated on contact.
'Who in the suns of the galaxy are you?' defalcon began to raise his blaster but stopped when Kazooie motioned to him.
'defalc, I don't think any of us are going to be shooting him today.' Kaz watched him out of the corner of his eye. It was impossible to tell what he was. He was clothed in a full black bodysuit that effectively hid his features from onlookers.
'My name is really no concern of you, but you may call me Rendark, shadow prince. I am your doom, and your destiny awaits.'
'Really? I thought that, for today at least, my destiny would involve a nice meal and a hot bubble bath on the Ralvient. Funny what different predictions we have.' defalcon saw the soldier pull a metal rod a foot long from his cloak.
'Keep back. I know what that is.' Kaz started to back off before raising his gun again.
'If I'm right, you'll be able to stop every one of my bullets, won't you.'
Rendark, the shadow prince, laughed viciously. 'Yes, you are correct.' He flicked a switch.
SIIWWWWOOOMM! A brilliant violet lightsabre hummed to life, causing the duo to jump backwards.
'Come, let's have a little duel.'
He swung the beam sword with expert control, blade glowing as it nicked pieces of their combat clothing off.
'Nice night for roasted bird, isn't it.' With a fancy twirl of his blade, he removed a chunk of Kazooie’s wing before twisting back into a stance.
‘defalc, we’re in hot water here.’ Kaz winced as the wound began to smoulder from the weapon’s heat.
‘This guy is weird. The accent’s turtle, and you get the feeling he is, but there’s no shell. He looks to graceful for a terrapin.’
‘True. Though we’d better run and get Frax out of here.’
Frax had crawled behind defalcon and was now unconscious on the dirt. defalcon took out his blaster and twisted his power-dial. Setting? Wide dispersal.
‘If we can’t nail him with a concentrated beam, I suppose we can burn him with a wide spread.’
Kazooie too, twisted the dial on his gun. ‘Wide dispersal? If you want. I’ll go with explosives.’
The soldier stared intently at his foe, waiting for the first move to be made. defalcon slowly raised his gun.
‘Nice weapon. I hear it blocks nearly everything.’
The turtle tilted his head to the side. ‘Yes. It also carves through anything, including your scrawny little rabbit hide.’
Kaz opened his beak to respond, with a slow grin spreading across his face. ‘It may cut through defalcon’s rabbit hide, and it may make mince out of me, but I doubt it’s gonna do much to young Frax until you turn around.’
BLAM! Frax had regained consciousness and shot Rendark in the back. The mysterious warrior screamed in outright agony as the bolt cut through his body armour.
‘Hey guys,’ Frax managed a weak smile. ‘Looks like he’s done for.’

‘Sir, this is Commander Galjunn reporting. We have a status update.’
Shrugging off flying insects as he trudged through the thick forest shrubbery, Devan Shell stared into the small screen of his intercom. ‘Your progress?’
‘Another 5% of the planet explored, including your team and that of the other’s progress. We’ve mapped a good 17% of the planet’s surface.’
Devan smirked inside his metallic shell. ‘Anything useful? I thought unknown, uncharted planets found in the far corners of the galaxy usually have something rare on them.’
‘That would be a stereotype sir. However, we have encountered a large rock cliff leading into a seemingly impenetrable valley.’
‘An impenetrable valley? How so?’ The leader of the turtles began to think. A strange forest planet, with energy fields that prevent scanners from orbit mapping the planet, a dense layer of clouds that blocks out satellite cameras, an now an impenetrable valley.
‘It’s blocked off by some sort of ornate door in the cliff, commander. As for the rest of the valley boundaries, there’s a…’ the turtle hesitated.
‘There’s a what? What could there possibly on this uninhabited planet? What is it? A giant rabbit? A squad of cheerleaders? What, what?!’
‘A force field sir. A humongous force field. The only reason we can tell it’s a valley is because of the geographical features of the boundary. We haven’t been able to penetrate it, even with our D-Cannons.’
‘A force field?’ Devan nearly flipped, jumping with panic like a scared possum. ‘If there’s a force field on this planet, there’s an advanced species on this planet!’
‘Er…yes sir. As for the door, we have a titan attempting to destroy it, as our energy weapons dissipated when we used them on the door…’ He waited for Devan to react.
‘Dissipated?’ Devan began to quake inside his shell. While dissipating energy weapons was hardly impossible, it took a tremendous amount of energy to successfully withstand repeated D-Cannon blasts.
‘Yes sir.’
‘I’m heading to my shuttle. Devan Shell out.’

‘I am SO sick of this! I wake up one place, and faint. I am SO complaining to whatever mystical powers are dragging my hide around the galaxy.’ Rumbo woke up in another room.
‘Hm. This room is probably part of the same temple. Same stonewalls, same carvings…’ his voice trailed off. In the middle of the room he saw an altar with an inscription on the stone.
