He/she could also choose one or more able Co-Leader(s) who would replace him/her if he/she would ever be unable to lead the clan (temporarily or forever).. while staying the only leader for as long as it takes.. Having two leaders equal in power tends to come with disputes (if the two leaders can't agree on something, what then?).
