Well, I think I might have a couple of ideas on this puzzle.

1. Look at the carving through the Gem Thing.

2. Push the crystals into the corners of the rooms (and align them in some way), but before doing that, spinning them so that their faces face left. Also place the Gem Thing in one one of the corners to replace the missing fourth crystal in the SE room.
