Bandwidth. The more this server uses, the more money the webmasters have to pay. And money isn't what they've got a lot of.  Besides, hosting it on a seperate server and linking to it works just as great, if not better: saves downloading if the image shows up immediatly.
btw Why is this in the JCS forum? This is more suited for Site and Forum Questions. The drawings you've made can go to The Art Forum.
