Frequent visitors of Haze's Hideout may have noticed the above message being prominently displayed at the familiar location where once was a website. As it seems the entire Dutchfurs.com domain has gone over its limit and, believe it or not, it was the Hideout that apparently did it. But read on to see how this is not good news at all.

From the evidence gathered so far it seems that the Hideout has been responsible for 80% of the total traffic for the domain this month. More frighteningly it only consisted out of a single file, the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 MAC shareware demo, being downloaded over and over again. Thus from the looks of it it was a deliberate attack, either on the Hideout or the Dutchfurs.com network.
To make matters worse local internet access has been cut off about a week ago and it may still take a few days for us to get back on our feet. Suffice to say none of these events make any of us involved particularly happy. Not me personally, not our servermeister and definitely not our host, as many other sites were also dependent on said account.

I'm typing this from my parents' house just to keep you all informed. We'll try to get everything back up to working order as soon as possible. Expect some changes though, to counter any such possible events in the future.
As soon as the whole crew can get together around the table with the logs in our hands we'll see what needs to be done. Plans were already afoot to move to a smaller server exclusive to the domain, but if follies like these continue we might consider dropping such things as the downloads hosted on the HIdeout entirely.

Confessions, shout-outs or suggestions are always welcome at hazeshideout@gmail.com or reply here. Though as pointed out earlier due to our connection being down it might take a while for us to read your messages.

And to whoever was responsible for all this... we know that you, being a Mac gamer, love Jazz Jackrabbit and want to spread the love. But seriously, burning a CD with the demo is much easier and saves you some time as well.

Thanks for reading!
