Well, Jazz is the best person to destroy something that would threaten the intergalactic rabbit species.
Maybe he just likes fame and fortune, or he has a scheme in mind: kill Devan, Marry Eva and become prince of Carottus (or the country where the Earlong family rules). No money problems, more power and still the privelege to go where you want to.
