Allow me to point out NMA's Formula:

Simply put, no matter how amazing or fantastic Jazz Jackrabbit 3 is (if it is ever made), the Jazz fanbase will shun it simply because it isn't a good Jazz game. See JJA corollary:

From both an average gamer's standpoint and a marketing standpoint, offering variation in games is a good idea: it creates a fresh new setting for gamers to play in, and it gives the company a new product to sell without relying on "it's just like the original!". However, many purist fans of a game franchise will dislike an entry in the series if it strays even a little bit from the original (see some Advance Wars fans, Smash Bros. fans, etc.).

tl;dr if Jazz 3 comes out it will probably be a fun game but the Jazz fanbase will hate it and keep playing JJ2.
