I would say that the game does not look all that good at high resolutions, to be honest. It's held up remarkably well when it comes to the quality of sprites and such, but the levels look rather ugly when you can see outside of the intended viewing area on the screen. When playing at 1920x1200 when the game is made for 320x240, you see very far outside the viewing area.
