Yes but that's why there emails were put up. Signing in once a day just to check doesn't hurt. Or simply send an email and just plan a "date" as such, so you can both play at the best times for each other. Just need a little communication is all.

I do agree it being a bit fast, it can make it harder for some people, rep should probably put how fast he wanted it to go. Some people however could of at least sighed on to the JCF saying they can't make it. Otherwise it looks like they haven't even bothered.
