I know, I'm beating a dead horse here, but here are my two cents on this, was going to post earlier but had forgot the pass both to my hotmail and jcf acc.

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 was actually delayed quite a lot, and lost money on it as well, which probably demotivated them from making a sequel. With JJ3, they struggled to find a publisher as Gathering of developers refused to as they lost money on JJ2, thus probably leaving Epic not wanting to bother with the franchise anymore, and move on to something else. I mean, I'd love to have a new JJ game, but if I had a game I lost money on, I don't think I'd be too sure about releasing a sequel either...
