I like your friend's splash screen, French. Colors are vibrant and playful. It looks like a design you might see on a jewel case.

I do think that Lori's clothes are kind of weird fitting though. That, and the logos are a bit off. I'm all for Linux, but the way the WINE logo is tacked over the Windows 8 one doesn't look classy. The Windows 8 logo itself is... Yeah as Jerry said, eye explodingly ugly, but that's Microsoft's fault XD.
