Scraparap is supposed to be a spaceship scrap-heap, and the developers probably thought the 'arap' part had a nice ring to it. 
Fanolint is a mix of 'Fan' as in a blowing fan, of which there are lots of in the level, and probably ' Olint' which is a long-running plant breeding company (not officially confirmed).
