right inside your jazz2 directory, there's a sub-directory titled "cache"

when you play online and join a server during a level that you don't have in your jazz2 directory, the level (and its tileset - as well as music if you use jj2+ - with it, should you not have these either) will be downloaded, but not to the main directory, and instead to this "cache" sub-directory
