For those of you who say that JJ2 will die, there's a solution...rewrite the game. This has been done before-I direct you to the success of Continuum, a replacement for the aging Subspace client. The first version was almost exactly like Subspace, with a few minor tweaks. The second version added features not seen in subspace, and the third version likely will. So it's possible to recode the game, as long as you have the programmers to do it and a list server.
I agree that there needs to be something done about the companies today. It's perfectly legal for a company to hold on to the rights of some game, even if they have no plans to publish it, simply to keep that game from being produced by a competitor.
