My very first War Tavern Topic, I think...
Once upon a time...
A rabbit named Ducky
Somehow became very lucky.
One day she was chasing butterflies
An saw one of enormous size
On the side of the field over
Resting happily on a clover
Which happened to have four leaves
When she went to touch it her paw was stung by bees.
"Ow!" she cried and smacked the bee.
The others in the nest watched the scene repulsively.
They rushed down and stung
Ducky on the bumb
She ran for dear life
The stings hurt like a knife
She finally did elude
Them by pulling up her hood. She ran back to the place
At her very quickest pace
She plucked the purple flower
From their nest the bees did glower
Because they knew not to hurt
One with a four leafed clover pinned to her shirt.
Ducky walked to the 'Tavern
Where she did yearn
For one of her friends
To make amend
For the harm
That came to her bumb, legs, ears, and arm
Which the bees had put there
Then everybody did stare
As she walked in the door
"Are there anymore
Where that came from?"
Asked everyone.
"That is it!
Don't go back or the bees will have a fit!"
Said she.
The Taverners looked on with great greed.
"My appendages
Need bandages!" she said, crying a little
"Have you sat on a nettle?"
Asked Black
Who was about to get a smack
From behind her the greedy rabbits
Forgot their habits
Of drinking gin
And turned on their own kin ("Look out Tubbs!")
To get close to the Duck
Who seemed to be running OUT of luck
Kovu had just gathered up the pluck to ask the dear duck
For her lucky thing
Then the telephone did RIING!
Just in time!
But how does a mime
Carry on a conversation?
Ducky decided to RUN!
If she didn't want to be attacked
By the baseball bat
Which Cobra was holding over her head.
The bat came down upon the sheep, who bled
On the floor that had just been cleaned
Admael wasn't too keen
And threw them out (Hrmmmph!)
So they did weep and loudly pout
But that's not part of Ducky's song
Maybe this is getting too long...
Meanwhile, Ducky was tired.
Those Taverners got her wired!
She lay down and fell asleep
But was soon awoken by chirping and many a cheep!
It was that greedy bird
How absurd!
It was Kazoo!
"How're you?"
She asked to be polite
Like a kite
He floated down from the air
Then also did he stare
At the flower.
It might take all his power to snatch it from her pretty paw (sorry Kaz, I guess you left SAM at home

)
But then she saw how to defeat him
She climbed onto a tree limb
Before her plan could be complete
Kazooie snatched her by the feet.
Her carried her to the Tavern where
They found some rope and tied her to a chair
But Blackie felt sad
Kidnapping her twice was rather daft.
She untied Ducky's bonds
Ducky felt suddenly of Blackie rather fond
She wanted to give her a hug
But her back was bit by another bug
"This place is cursed!"
she said but she was not yet over the worst.
Ducky ran before the others noticed she was gone (oh come on guys, you're being rather dumb)
She really thought she had won (pride goeth before a fall, haha

)
Little did she know when she had tripped across some tracks
That the train was coming fast
Toward the gorgeous bunny of grey
She was thinking as she picked herself up, "What a fine day!"
The horn was loud as at her it blew
Suddenly she realized she was in a stew
She screamed and luckily the clover used
A little luck; a cow ran quickly across the tracks and picked her up with an muffled moo.
A cow? You ask? What else would it be!
Unfortunately, it was a he!
The bull's horns did follow her as fast as she did go
She climbed a tree
And realized the key
Was to rid herself or the unluck?
She threw it down with a "Yuck!"
It landed on the ground
And, with a bound
She left the oak
Received a poke
From the horns of the bull waiting below
To herself she said "I am a pro,
At this Warrior stuff...I think."
She pulled out her electric stick
But along came a calf
That grazed in front of the bull.
"I am so full
Of this nonsense!"
Said she, and left thinking that cows were so dense.
Now Ducky got hungry
She stopped at a nearby cottage for tea
The owner's name was Mrs. Keel
She wanted badly to steal
Ducky's four leaves, which clung to her skirt when she had dropped it.
“Please down you sit!”
Said Mrs. Keel as she schemed
Ducky did as was asked and at Mrs. Keel she beamed.
The Missus went into the kitchen
She was a tawny fox, a very sly vixen
Into the tea she poured some poison
And added to the tray a cinnamon bun.
Ducky ate the bun and fell asleep in her chair
Thinking of how nice Mrs. Keel was to share
The bun but not the tea
You see, Ducky did not like the way the tea looked
Mrs. Keel was so mad it was Ducky she shook.
Ducky woke up and saw the face full of anger
She shrieked because she saw the situation’s danger.
Mrs. Keel Ducky shoved into the oven
“I wonder if fox would be good with stuffin’!”
Said she with a heeheehee.
“I never knew those nursery rhymes would come in handy.”
Ducky left the cottage,
Broke down the hedge
That tried to eat
Her seat
“I’ve been into the fire from the pot.”
She thought.
But then did she know
She still carried the clo.
With her eyes she did see
“It still clings to me!!!”
She traveled far away
From the greedy rabbits and their way
She took a boat
To the East it did float
For many, many days.
Ducky sailed until the passing of seven Mays.
She landed in the wild yonder
There she continued to ponder
What the heck is wrong with us all? *groan*
While walking and wondering she kicked a stone
She wasn’t watching where she was going and she came to a cliff;
She kept walking not watching and as she fell her body went stiff;
Fall
Fall
Fall
Into a pool of water so cold she could not breathe
She swam to the shore and somehow did achieve
To get her bearing and realize where she was
In her ear she heard a buzz.
A butterfly flew northward
She listened to a singing bird
“A butterfly got me into this mess...”
She said and started to turn west
But we all know Ducky cannot resist
Chasing butterflies so she followed the teal feathery luna into the mist
She felt dry land beneath her paws and a cool liquid sloshing around up to her knees.
She could see nothing ahead or behind except the mist and the moth—ahead was a surging whirling melee
Of the translucent yet brilliant blue--so bright it hurt her eyes-liquid fog.
She took a breath of the crisp air and as the luna faded into the mist she stepped ahead and let it wash over her in a hazy, riotous teal, green and blue smog.
