A good indication about the cause of this graphics lag can be found by testing out both single player and multiplayer. If the graphics lag is not present in single player, then the main factor involved is the internet connection. If it persists through single player, however, the PCI utilization/simulation is not functioning properly. Instead of going with newer NVidia drivers, go with factory default drivers, or drivers that correspond more closely to the video card. Right now, the newer drivers are tending to leave PCI and older video cards in the dust, and are really unlocking the potential of the newer video cards. Realize that sometimes older drivers will actually do the job better than newer drivers, especially when the drivers are working for other variations of hardware as well. Windows XP itself may as well be the main factor here, since it will update your drivers to the latest in its database. If you have a computer from Hewlett Packard that installed with a version of Windows earlier than XP, you can find a driver update that supposedly fixes the drivers to cooperate with XP.
