Update part 2, again cross-posted from LJ.

Hollingdean hill

One of my regrets from my time at university: I lived only a few minutes from here for two years, and never once did I venture up here. This was taken about a year and a half after I moved away - I came back to visit some friends, and Craig recommended this walk.

Reflecting pool 2

Pause, and reflect upon your surroundings.

Growing boats

Some people grow flowers, or vegetables. Over in Fareham Creek, they grow sailing boats.

Wild tree

While out walking one day I came across this tree, chained down presumably to stop it snaring passing travellers. If you look closely, you'll spot that the chain is broken...

Insubstantial

It's hard to take a photo of mist - it's so insubstantial, and appears washed out.

Twilight path

On the former Deviation Line, north of Fareham.

Not these odds

The wrecked boat to the right is named "Against All Odds".

Birds of a feather...

...flock together

Dr. Evil's Secret Lair

This must be someone's secret lair. Drawbridge (well, swing-bridge), gates, towering walls, tidal access for secret yachts - it's got all the marks of an evil genius' base.

Brushstrokes

Taken from a Southern train, heading eastwards.

The golden coast

Taken in late September, with the last rays of the setting sun.

Skimming across the sea

Probably a crow, flying inches above the surface of the sea.

Sunset

I do like sunsets.

Golden trees

The setting sun makes these trees appear to glow.

Sunset 2

Ok, enough sunsets for now.

Nelson's Monument

Consecrated to the memory of Lord Viscount Nelson by the zealous attachment of all those who fought at Trafalgar to perpetuate his triumph and their regret.

Power!

Taken on Portchester Common

Beacon of light

I think that's a lighthouse on the Isle of Wight, lit up by a gap in the clouds.

The oncoming storm

Taken from Portchester Common, on a very wild and windy day.
