...And the results are in!

Best Battle Level

Winners: Alcatraz (2), Cerulean Comet (2), Gloom (2)
Runners Up: Shimmering Cavern (1), Trembling Tundra (1)

So, we have a three-way tie. All three levels are most certainly worthy of the award (if I'm allowed to be arrogant in this case). No one likes a tie, so I say we resolve this the good-old-fashioned way: lets have a poll to determine king of the hill, aka the true winner.

Best CTF Level

Winner: Stronghold (4)
Runners Up: Canyon Grove (2), Depths of Void (1), Epitome II (1), I feel like having a déjÃ(-) vu... (1)

Stronghold was one of the most prolific MP levels of last year due to winning the JJNet CTF contest and getting some play on the ladder, so it's no surprise that SJ's level took the crown. I expect we'll be seeing more from this level in the future. My own level, Canyon Grove, perhaps doesn't have the same universal appeal as Stronghold, but I'm still pleased to see that it got a couple of votes.

Best Other MP

Winner: Forest Wheel (5)
Runners Up: Nuostabus Pobudis (2), Dragon RF Test (1)

Another clear winner. Forest Wheel is a small but awesomely creative level that showcases the power of AngelScript. If anything, it's proof that even MP levels can still reap the benefits that scripting brings to JJ2 just as well as that of any SP level. Expect a few interesting events next JDC.

Best SP Release

Winner: Ozymandius (5)
Runners Up: Hereafter (3), Looking for Answers - Part 1 (1)

This is an interesting result. Whilst I guess most people expected Ozymandius to win due to its titanic status in the community, I must add that Hereafter is most certainly a worthy runner up, that may have been overlooked slightly following the release of the former. Although relatively short, both are some of the finest Single Player levels to have been created in the last couple of years, and point towards a revival in the SP level design scene, after it became stale following the release of Devres.

Best JJ1 Level

Winner: Bad Seed (2)
Runner Up: Nippius Heights (1)

It's rare enough to see one JJ1 release to J2O in a single year, but getting two is something special. A small margin obviously, but I guess it's right that there should be a winner. Both are worth checking out, and perhaps more people will be inspired to dabble with JJ1 level creation this year after playing Sonic With A Gun.

Best Use of AngelScript

Winner: Ozymandius (5)
Runners Up: Shimmering Cavern (2), Hereafter (1), Tetris (1)

Violet CLM breaks new ground in more ways than one by becoming the first JCSer to win two categories with the same release. Ozymandius is a truly spectacular level - download it and play it ASAP if you haven't already, and prepared to be stunned into how sophisticated JJ2 level design can now be when enhanced by AngelScript. Props to all the runners up too: all of them make great use of AS in their own unique ways. Personal "hats off" to the Tetris level: if anything it's just crazy to imagine anything like that could've ever been pulled off in JJ2.

Best JCSer

Winner: Violet CLM (5)
Runners Up: Foly (1), Loon (1)

Never has there been more of a worthy recipient of this category until now. Violet CLM has been a dominant force in the JCS scene over the past year; consistently producing awe-inspiring levels that make you question reality. He continues to demonstrate an incredible sense of ambition and dedication to the game, and will no doubt continue to inspire in years to come. Perhaps the shock value from playing his scripted levels will fade with time, but regardless, it's hard to deny the influence that this guy has had on level creation in 2013.

The poll to decide the Best Battle Level will close on Sunday 16th March. A mod will open it shortly, as well as reveal the deleted posts.

Here's to an awesome 2014!
