Anyway, it's not a JJ2 bug, it's a level bug. It's because the next level is set to castle1.lev. The level creator just forgot to edit the set next level when the level format got changed. You can fix it in JCS by opening trainer.j2l, click "Tools" at the top, then click level properties, setting next level to castle1 (take the .lev out of it), then click OK. Problem fixed.
EDIT: Okay, apparently this worked in vanilla. Alright then... but there's still plus breaking town2.
