You trade the crab for the doll, and head off towards Scholar Sam's.
You enter the magic academy and begin to cast "Enchant Doll". Dramatic lighting and wind effects! Loud noises! Loss of spell points! Finally, there's a bright white flash of light, and then everything is quiet. The doll slowly gets up, and begins to speak. "Hi kids! My name's Spiffy the Wonder Doll! Who wants to SING!!!1?111". Enchanting it in Scholar Sam's you had hoped for some mad uber-mage doll. But after "When the Saints come marching in", "Greensleeves", and "Carry Me Back to Old Virginia", it becomes clear that all it got was Scholar Sam's mad sing-along skills.
