There is a tutorial in TGF. One of the lessons shows how to make enemies not see you when you're behind them. By using more objects like that, you can also make them hear you better when you run than when you walk, when you're closer or further, or what the area is like. As for stomping Devan, this level would use quite much of memory, but today's computers won't even notice the difference. (mine is not today's, but don't care)
