aaaaaand to attack newspaz even more: 
zipped mod files are just as big as j2b files, and zipped j2b files dont get compressed at all (maybe just 1% or somehting like that). So using a mod or j2b won't make any difference in the filesize of your upload, and it'll prevent ppl like me listening to the song outside of JJ2.
As far as the converting does, it's impossible, whatever mp3 you convert to mod will be ENORMOUS and with JJ2's memory limitations you'll never be able to play it. I think the max is somehting around 1.5-2mb for a mod and converting would prolly be around 40mb, depends on the length of the song
