Some of my first memories are playing Jazz Jackrabbit, on an old IBM. For me, Jazz was the standard. Mario and Sonic were judged against the green rabbit. When Jazz 2 was on the horizon, I was giddy like, well, I was a schoolboy. It wasn't until 2 years after release when I finally got the full version of Jazz 2. I spent countless days, warm and cold, rain and shine, playing jazz 2 with a cheap, third party controller, running around, shooting turtles, and having a hell of a time. As for one memory? Well, I remember the texture of the leather and wood of the chair i was sitting in, and of the paper stuck to the computer table from a water stain, literally scratching my itch to play as the screen loaded the intro. I think the B52s - Rock Lobster was playing.
