For mIRC, go to mirc.com, download, install, and run the program.
When the options come up, click the add button and enter the following data:
Description: Quakenet
IRC Server: irc.quakenet.org
Port(s): 6667
Click Add
In the second drop down box, it should say Quakenet.
Enter in something for the full name and email address.
Enter your nickname, and a slightly different alternative (note: spaces don't work)
Click 'Connect to IRC Server'
Once it's done connecting (you should see 'End of /MOTD command'), type the follownig:
/join #JJ2
That should open a new window through which you are in the #JJ2 channel. Hopefully someone will be there to assist you from that point
