What Are Some *TRUE* Puzzle levels

I want to know if there are some pretty good puzzle levels out there, where theres always a puzzle or obstacle course to pass. Hopefully you get what i mean.

Note that if you run that level from jcs you'll permanently break it... it will not be beatable.

Yes, I have finished it. Although I forget which is the third puzzle. If you tell me which one it is, I should be able to help you solve it.

Ahh, the good old fire truck. That's one of the better puzzle levels around. Beaten it several times.

To how many other levels does this actually apply to?

Just that one, for now.

Thanks. I've been out of the loop for a while and I even forgot some things related to custom levels.

Well technically more are starting to appear, most of them are not on J2O.

Qob_menu's next level is a true puzzle level, it's included in the secret files, but I'm sure you can download the level somewhere. It's a VERY hard maze. I'm still trying to finish it. it's very cruel.

This is an atrocious level. There's a fine line between challenging and frustrating, and this level is a few light years past it. There is no skill involved, and to win the level you have to spend and absurd amount of time pouring over every possible inch of a ton of massive mazes to find some little hidden passage. Then you wander around a maze completely blind. Then there are many places which attempt to force you to die/get jazz to crash by saving the game in a much too large level just before finishing. These are not puzzles, and this is not a puzzle level. Puzzles require thought. These are just the dumb "find the crate" type search found on many levels taken way too far. In addition, the eycandy's not that good, and there are several instances of tiles used on both layer 3 and 4, which is just annoying. Don't waste you time downloading this level. It will be faster and more fun to open JCS, make a start zone in the middle of a box of hurts, then save and run. Then play for several hours.

Sorry, this rant was probably quite pointless. If you happened to skip to the end of the post and read this first, don't waste your time going back and reading the rest of it.

It's legitimate criticism. Then again, it's not like it's really trying to be a puzzle level, just a gigantic maze.

Always good to see people who agree with this! QoB is a bad level. The part where it really crosses the line is when it tells you to save the game, when it will always crash if you do so!

There are a lot of "classic" level packs which I have disliked in the past, but have come around to enjoying. An example is tomb rabbit, which I used to criticize a lot, but have since changed my mind on (I'm working on a big, positive review of it which I'll post on my blog soon). QoB on the other hand I have always disliked, and more than that, my opinion of it has gotten worse over time. It's not only unfun, but literally unplayable if you get far enough.

I suppose it does count as a puzzle level though!

Count me in on that one, mike! I never liked QoB either for several reasons already stated.

I got halfway through this rant before I noticed it wasn't Evil Mike writing it.

QoB is the worst level ever. Some eight years ago or whatever, I always thought it must be my bad that I failed so horribly at it. But once I got to open JCS to have a look at it, it was only WTF. Why, only why, was it added with TSF? Countless players wasted hours playing that useless crap "thanks" to it.

At least QOB works. I'm eager to try out "neobeo's firetruck", but it gives an internal error when started. It says: "Jazz Jackrabbit 2 ran out of internal animation structures. This is most likely caused by too many enemies in the level. Please resolve this problem and restart Jazz Jackrabbit 2."

Oh great, the most likely cause isn't it, because there are no enemies in the level at all.

This error can also occur in several other instances. For example, don't tile layer 4's width or height. Also, make sure you don't save Neobeo's firetruck in JCS, or it will delete all the text, and could possibly cause other errors.
