I just have a lot of questions, so anyone in the know, please answer as many as possible. Thanx in advance. And please, don't pass out.

GAME OVERVIEW

1) What is the game?

GAME OVERVIEW

1) What is the game?

Possum is a 5 Dimensional Platformer made by some of the people in the JJ2 community.

2) Why create this game?

Besides making money? Well, it was started around the time everybody wanted lots of stuff in JJ2 that wasn't, so they decided to make a JJ3 themselves, only with a different name, character, engine, etc.

3) Where does the game take place?

Your computer.

4) What do I control?

The characters.

5) How many characters to I control?

It depends on how entrepid you are.

6) What is the main focus?

To have fun.

7) What's different from other games?

The name.


FEATURE SET

8) What are the general features?

A possum, a weasel, a wall, a floor, a ceilling.

9) What are the multiplay features?

Fun.

10)What are the level editor features?

Infinite layers, vector layers, array layers.

11) What is the general gameplay going to be like?

It's a platformer.


THE GAME WORLD
12) Provide an overview of the game world (please).

Which one?

13) What features does the game world have?

See above.

14) Provide an overview of the physical world (please).

Well, you can crash into walls... if they're solid. Does that help?

15) Describe the key locations of the world (please).

Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, etc.

16) Describe how the player travels in the game world (please).

Well, the wheels on a bus go round and round, round and round, round and round. The wheels on a bus go round and round, all the live long day.
Does that help?

17) Describe the objects that can be found in the world (please).

Walls: Big heavy things in front and behind of you that one usually finds is solid, unless a secret is contained.
Floor: You walk on this stuff. Sometimes it falls out from under you. Sometimes it doesn't exist, making you think you need mental therapy. You can jump on it for fun.
Ceilling: This is the bottom of a floor, and is to be found above you. When you jump into it, you bang your head.

18) Describe the weather in the world (please).

I'd like to use a lifeline.

19) Does the world have day and night?

Seeing as all it requires is a small change in lighting, I don't see why not.

20) How is time handled in the game?

With alarming efficiency.

RENDERING SYSTEM
21) Provide an overview of how the game will be rendered (etc).

It will appear on your monitor.. does that help?

22) What sort of rendering engine will be used?

A locomotive.

CAMERA
23) Descibe how the camera will follow the player.

As long as you're talking Screenshots, I believe they just get the entire window/screen.

24) Will there be different camera angles?

It's kind of hard to imagine different camera angles in a 2D game.. even if it IS 5D.

GAME ENGINE
25) Provide an overview of the game engine.

Toot Toot! Chugga Chugga Chugga, Chugga Chugga Chugga, Chugga Chugga Chugga. Toot Toot!

26) Describe the details of the engine.

They're smooth, and they can be good listeners too.

27) Will there be water in the world/how will it be handled?

Maybe/with all cautain necessary.

28) How will collision detection work?

Well, hitting a wall stops you.

LIGHTING MODELS
29) Describe an overview of the light/dark system.

Well, you can see better in the light then in the dark, unless you're playing as an Owl.

30) Extra details?

Sure! Bring them on!

THE WORLD LAYOUT
31) Provide an overview of how the world is layed out.

As I said before, there are walls, and ceillings, and floors. For further details, you will have to wait until it comes out.

32) Extra details?

Like I said before, I wouldn't mind some.

GAME CHARACTERS
33) Provide an overview of what the characters are like.

Well, they're composed entirely of pixels on your screen, which naturally gives them dimunititive personalities.

34) How do you create or personalize your character?

With the source code.

35) Describe the enemies.

Well, they move around according to their Artificial Intelligence. If you hit an enemy, you get hurt, but if they hit you, they don't get hurt. It's unfair, really.

USER INTERFACE
36) Provide an overview of the game interface.

Well, for starters, you need a keyboard or joystick or something of the like. In order to get the entire playing experiance.

37) Extra details?

I keep requesting them, but I'm not getting any. It's a crying shame.

WEAPONS
38) Provide an overview of the weapons in the game.

Well, I had a cartload of the things, but one exploded.. you know the rest.

MUSIC AND SOUND
39) Provide an overview of the music.

BEEP BEEP BOOP BOOP BA BEEP BEEP, BEEP BEEP BOOP, BEEP BA BEEP, BEE BO BEE BE BEEP BA BAA BAP, BEEP BOO BEEP BUH BUH BUH!

40) Provide an overview of the sound.

To tell the truth, I don't know how to make this post make sound. And as only your eyes are effected by this post, not your ears, I can't help you with that.

41) Will you be using APIs?

Yes. A Puppet Interface is just what this game uses in great quanity. Along with floor, ceilling and walls.

42) What will sound design be like?

If you're deaf, I wouldn't advise trying it.

It ain't over yet... bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Neither is my infinite store of totally accurate Possum knowledge.

THE SINGLE-PLAYER GAME
43) Describe the single player game experience.

The walls, floor and ceilling gag is getting kind of old.... Ah, I know. You basically try to make friends with all the villains, invite them to tea, bop them on the head, and eventually get turned into a GOOOOOO by the good fairy. However, this is good, as only GOOOOOOs can pass some of the levels.

44) Describe the extra details.

How should I know? You haven't given them to me yet.

45) Describe the basic story.

It has something to do with a Possum.

46) How many hours of gameplay will there be?

Until you get bored. You see, there will be an option to create totally random levels, which places everything a level can have randomly, so each time is a new experiance!

47) How does one win the single player game?

Be polite.

THE MULTI-PLAYER GAME
48) How will multiplayer work?

Better then JJ2.

49) What's the max amount of players that can play?

One per server.

50) Describe the severs (client and/or peer-to-peer).

I tried to get into one to check, but it told me the server was full.

51) How can the players customize the muti-play experience?

By being the one person.

52) How will the game work over the internet?

The internet is a great mystery, but now is not your time to learn its subtle actions.

53) What (if any) gaming sites will it support?

The one that is lightest, of course.

54) Is the world persistent?

Yes. If Possum doesn't sell, the world has a great future as a door to door salesman.

55) Can you save/load a multiplayer game? Why or why not?

In the shareware version, you can save a multiplayer game only. In the full version, you can load a multiplayer game only. The saved games are not the same format in the full and shareware versions, so don't get any ideas to get around that.

CHARACTER RENDERING
56) Describe how the characters will be rendered.

In a self promoting fashion.

57) Extra details?

GIVE ME THE THINGS ALREADY!

WORLD EDITING
58) Provide an overview pf the world editor.

I've already answered 57 questions.. give me a break!

They change color every millisecond.
