What program do you all use to draw a tileset.

I used paint but the colors were not right with it.

Anyone an idea which program I could use?

I definately recommend Paint Shop Pro. Many others agree with me there. Photoshop is another good choice, but it's too expensive for most.

Paint works to some extent, but you'll need to use remap palette.

Wow, Mr. Iceman anticipates our answers!

Well, i'd recommend Paint Shop Pro. In my opinion the best free PC painting program (by far!). It also has some nice colour reducing routines, which is quite useful for Jazz2 tilesets.

Click on the "Paint Brushes" symbol, then go to "View/ToolBars" and activate the "Control Palette". Then choose "Brush Tip" and click on the "Brush Options" symbol. Choose the "Pencil".

I use Paint Shop Pro for everything tilesets. Don't use paint. Paint bites. Ultimate Paint is pretty good and easy, too, but I still like Paint Shop Pro the best for tileset making.
