Cool. The foreground does stand out plenty. The darker areas show up well against that background.

Dx has a point. The graphics are pretty but the colors are sort of depressing. I hope you will add some colorful eyecandy to it.

Yeah, it's that one tileset again. But look closely! There's a difference!

Anyway, I figured I better finish it up some time or I might as well have never started with it, so I suppose it'll be released soon. Whether it's any good, well, that'll be for you to decide 8)

Interesting you decided to make a "high res" version of the tileset. It looks good, although I have to say I prefer the background in the old version. A textured background just doesn't fit as well. The pattern isn't as interesting looking, either.

Yeah, I'm still not sure what to do with the background. The original didn't have much in terms of layer 6/7 eyecandy, so I'm still trying to find a way to make the background more interesting.

The rest is pretty much finished though, in fact I already got the example level done, so once I come up with something I can release it.

I was bored today, and started a new tileset.. then I felt like making an mp level, and this is result, its probably the first level of the upcoming New Ages V







Ill probably upload this level as a single upload too. most likely in few hours.

I like the style snooze. Is this another one of your tilesets ?
I wouldn't mind seeing this, the second screenshot caught my intrest the most, I would like to see how it plays out.

Maybe you could also release the pixelated version. I like pixelated graphics, dunno why.

So it seems like people got bored of making standard looking levels after all these years, and they're starting to make levels that simply look.. weird?

well yes it seems. its quite sad how many people dont seem to accept the efforts in that when you try to design something new. personally i would find using some other sets then my own ones stupid. actually, ive decided that all my upcoming levels will use my own sets, because that helps designing alot.

I guess that it probably doesnt help in MP levels alot, but atleast its something new, and well, if there wouldnt be new things, i think jcsers would eventually get very discouraged..

Not sure... the Jungrock leaves stand out so much that they look as if they're masked. They're also too rectangular to come off as organic. The cave background blends in with the Stonar blocks too much. The Stonar stuff looks somewhat washed out in general, too - specifically the formerly red bricks, they need more contrast. The owl's eyes are wrong - the pupils should be red and the white should remain white, but I dunno if that looks good on a shrunk owl. Quite a few tilebugs in the level too.

I am excited for the layer background though.

Thanks. Yeah, this one's giving me a lot of trouble, mostly with palette but not exclusively. I'll try to work on contrast (which has been noted before as a problem for me), thanks for confirming suspicions. Really I just allocated too few tiles to do too many things. I am curious to know what you identify as tilebugs though (as if it really matters for an example level), and by "the cave background blend[ing] in with the stonar blocks," do you mean the purple bricks or the gray blocks? If the latter I don't see that at all.

Hard to think about Snooze's Dreamless because same name...
Also I saw one level... In some warp center... It use ambient sounds as bees... I think it very wrong because level no bees... XD
I think it stupid that you cant make your own name...
but have to use me... and then say people not think of Snooze's Dreamless...

Also no screens... so that bad... screens please... (too many please... XD)

It's normally best if you don't share the same level name, or pack, with someone else. I made a list of words you might be interested in using instead, which still slightly describe your level.

Phenomenon
enterprise
desired
brainstorm
vision
imagination
moonstruck
muse

You will need to combine these words with others, However I think moonstruck would work pretty well on its own. However its the level that counts the most.
