I was just thinking...

I started playing Jazz3 today, and (although it was only a demo and it was quite ugly) I really liked it. But because the game will never be released because there is no...ehr..how do you call it...distributor...I came up with the following idea:

You know games like World Of Warcraft and Star Wars Galaxies? They are called Massive Multiplayer Online RPGS...Many, many people seem to like these kind of games, and probably, many distributors will like to bring out such games...Can't we propose to Epic to make a samelike Jazz idea, a Massive Multiplayer Online Action Game! I mean, you can explore giant worlds of Carrotus in 3d, and play the regular platformgames as quests (Example: you need to kick badguys in Carrotus Castle...as soon as you - and maybe your online party of rabbits- enter the castle, the game will turn into a platform level, but with friends in it, and I'm sure many people will like it!

So...Is there someone with the good connections here?

*sigh* How many times will this be asked?

Basically, this is the same as the 10045395839856723965823746980426498980426904290674 0969740276482 other Jazz3 posts out there. However, you do have an idea, but did you notice no online co-op feature? Besides, I read somewhere that Noggy said "please don't bug me about Jazz stuff, I'm not involved in that anymore" and he is the best one! Anyway, aren't you forgetting Diablo, DiabloII, and many more? Notice that you could mention those two games and assume that most people had heard of them. If I go out into a crowd of people and yell EVER HEARD OF JAZZ JACKRABBIT!? How many are going to yell back YES! Umm...try none. Jazz just doesn't have a background. Now games are becoming all blood, gore, and violence. JJ3d [strike]has[/strike] had none of this. As usual, the Unreal engine costs money, G.O.D. Games is dead or dying, we have no team, and more problems. Plus, what are you going to do, walk up to Epic "Hi, I just illegally downloaded your beta demo for JJ3d, I think it is good, can we continue it?" RIGHT. Sorry, but JJ3d is dead!!!!
*sigh* I answered another of the 10045395839856723965823746980426498980426904290674 0969740276482 Jazz3d posts.

Wicked idea Splash!
Jazz 3D can look good, this is what i did.

1)Make a shartcut to the Jazz3d.exe and in the target whitch shows that path to the .exe add -safe (so its some thing like this C:\Games\Jazz3D\System\Jazz3d.exe -safe)
This will allow you to play JJ3 in direct 3d and not software mode.

2)Load JJ3 up and set the brightness to 50%
3)Change the screen reselutuon to 800x600
3)Your all set, now play Jazz 3D in good grapics

Look @ this pic to see

To get back on the original topic: changing the gameplay mode for any Jazz Jackrabbit games or the formula won't make it an instant hit.
You'd have to put more work in it than that.

Lightbulb forget Epic

i don't think epic is going to make an other jazz game.

but why don't WE do it?.
i don't know the unreal engine but i do no a bit of the quake3...

i think we could make a jazz3 mod for quake. the unreal models can be inported and converted to quake3 format...

but since we don't have the publish rights of the models we will get the same problems like the "bid for power" team was getting when they made a DBZ game.

but before thats happens..... who wants to help me, if we have a few people we can do it i think. (if we do only multiplayer with a few maps it would not be to mutch modeling work)

While I echo your cynicism, I have to admit that this is a more reasonable idea than is typically seen here. Creating a MOD is (I would imagine) much less effort than an entire game.

I don't know anything about Quake3 (chiefly because I don't have it :P), but I feel compelled to help.

I KNOW! I can be one of those concept guys. I'll come up with a storyline, planets, and other stuff relating to the job.

PM me for any help. As i'm writing this, i've got some ideas simmering in my grok pot.

-ThO

Edit: Some planets for you:

Aquaticus

Climate: Sunny, some rain
Landscape: Mostly water
Description: Known for it's lovely beaches and wide expanse of water, Aquaticus is a tourist haven and a living area for sapient water lifeforms.

Sandicon

Climate: Arid
Landscape: Desert, occasional river
Description: Sandicon is a land of the ancient Scorpions, a race from long ago. They have built citadels, temples honoring their gods, and vast palaces containing riches beyond belief.

Starship Plaston

Climate: It's in space.
Landscape: A starship. Nuff' said.
Description: The Starship Plaston was named after the great rabbit thinker and writer. Help save the crew trapped on the ship.

Pluvius Frigda

Climate: blizzards, ice, sunny
Landscape: Icy, mountianous, some sea
Description: Pluvius Frigda is a frozen land. Be prepaired to go on the ice!

Giant Rubex Cube

Climate: Sunny, no rain
Landspace: Plastic
Description: This is not a planet so much as it is a huge puzzle built by engineers for laughs. A robotic machine is inside constantly moving the landspace.

it is not hard to make maps, i lurned it in about a week or so.

using Quark: Quake Army Knife it is an easy job.

you can lurn it and help me with the maps, (all multiplayer)

the game will be stand alone when its done, so you don't need quake3 to play it.

untill its done it will be a mod and you do need quake3 to play.

but for now there is nothing to see yet. you can "buy" your copy in your local computer store or just ..... you will think of something else......

Thanks for the compliments. I'll come up with some more.

I might get Quark, to help design maps, but probably not. Unless the project isn't finished by the time I get cable and I have enough money to buy Quake3. I WILL, however, help out in one way or another.

...where do you get Shellion from? I've heard of Devan's brother Shellion, but that's a fan character. The JJ1 manual refers to Devan as a "Shellian Terrorist" (note the A), which could just mean that Shell is a variety of turtle, like how Jazz's last name is Jackrabbit. As in "Human Terrorist" in a galactic situation instead of just "Mexican Terrorist" or "Terran Terrorist" (though that sounds kind of cool).

I thought Shellion was the native planet of the turtles, much like Earth is the Native planet for humans.

Anyways, new planets (And Violet, you have to do a conversion of Exoticus and Deckstar):

Smogulon

Climate: Cloudy, foggy, very polluted
Landspace: Earthlike, Huge technological buildings (The water is said to be toxic if ingested, though safe to swim in)
Description: Some say this was an industrial planet, before the the fumes in the air became too toxic for daily ingestion. Others say that the turtles had used up the resources here, and left the planet to suffer. Programs to restore the planet are still underway.

Electronia

Climate: Sunny
Landscape: Think Tubelectric with Letni in it
Description: Like Smogulon, Electronia is an industrial planet. However, the industrial plants are much cleaner, making this place a tourist spot and education center.

Lemartu

Climate: Sunny, some winds, occasional tornado
Landscape: Junglelike
Description: Lemartu is the land of wind. Great wind power generators can be seen from space, turning the wind into useful energy, sold to other planets for money to keep their planet strong. Tourism is also a big moneymaker.

Starship Loboron

Climate: It's in space.
Landscape: A starship. Nuff' said.
Description: The Starship Loboron was named after the highest rank an ancient rabbit warrior could have. Go on the ship and get what you need.
