Server Patch Registry Help!

Okay, I figured out what my problem was. I merely unzipped the server patch without actually applying it to my registry. How do I make a backup of my registry so that I won't have to worry about complications?

It's fairly safe in my opinion (since most people who've used it had no serious problems). But if you really want to, run Regedit, click on My Computer (or whatever you want to backup specifically), then right-click Export. Just save it wherever you want, and I believe that should do it.

Okay, that's helpful. I just hafta know where Regedit is. Is it somewhere in the Windows folder?

Okay, I got the registry patches things installed. Yeah. I still get "ERROR CONNECTING TO LIST SERVERS" on both my TSF and Normal, though. Have you tried doing that with shareware yet? If you do, let me know what comes up.

Oh, and the Internet Links "work." It says it's Connecting with a flashing black box below that, but it never actually connects. Trust me, I'm still waiting and I've been since two hours ago.

Then, the server is pinging, or it has since gone down.

No, because I kept refreshing...other people were in it, too.

Then, you need to open ports in your router, ask your ISP if there is something preventing you from being capapble of playing, or use a different computer.

Then it's a defect in the router, your modem blocks incoming on ports other than obvious ones, or, your ISP is really picky.

Well, I use normal COX, so I don't see why my ISP would be the problem. But yeah, I think the router/firewall combo is what does it. I checked the log and it doesn't connect in the first place. I think the router is trying to send while the firewall is all, WuhTuhFuh?

Cox is usually leineint on ports, so it would be unlikely. Try disabling the firewall. And, then if that doesn't work, try DMZ, but turn it off after using it, since it opens your pc for attack otherwise.

Well, I'm not gonna do that all without permission, since the computer I play JJ2 on is my parents'. I'll try it if I can.
