Ok new updates and some more information on the game for both the demo and full version.

Demo - I made the sprite for Lori in the demo which is just the one of her standing because you only get to play as Jazz & Eva. Also the co-op level which I have tried with my sister is ok on TGF you cant split the scrollings so I couldn't do split screen so it is if Eva goes off screen she appears next to Jazz again and says "Phew!".

Full - All of the Spaz sprite is finished and I have started Spaz's level which I think is medium for a difficulty because you die when you fall in the mud holes. Also in the Multiplayer option which hasnt been finished yet their is going to be three gamemodes "Co-Op" , "Battle" , "Stars".

Its gonna take a while so I will make the Multiplayer a totally seperate game to the singleplayer. This way I can easily do it and when it comes to be downloadable you can download seperate files which are smaller. Anyways im trying to keep the programming for the game simple so Im using simple programming in the event editor its not rubbish though just to keep it easy for me and quicker for you

Co-Op - Choose a level from the list to say where you start from or play from the start and work your way through. Jazz , Spaz , Lori , Eva

Battle - This is undecided I don't know if i will use this but. You choose a level to battle on. Jazz , Spaz , Lori , Eva , Devan , Daven

Stars - How can collect the most stars you'll have to see. Jazz , Spaz , Lori , Eva

These are the three gamemodes but battle may be changed. Thats all for the updates

It is possible to do splitscreen in TGF, it's just a lot easier to do it in MMF.

www.tigerworks.co.uk I'm nt sure if they have a splitscreen thing but they have the best examples and totourials for TGF and MMF

I'm pretty sure Tigerworks doesn't have a splitscreen thing. I'll try to make a really simple splitscreen example for you, hopefully it'll be ready later today.

Ok, here's a really simple way of doing splitscreen in TGF. It's laggy, and because I used the default platform movement you can only control one character at a time, but it does pretend to work. Run Split1.exe, not Split2.

Hint: Use MMF instead. Or at least a custom platform movement. Both are waaay better for....
...well, anything.

Listen to Unknown Rabbit, there is wisdom in those words! Well even if you can't afford MMF atleast use a custom movement please or the game may tunr out

There is, of course, a price discount if you already own TGF.

...on the subject of the game, it looks ok, but you might want to do a bit more work on shading.

...you don't have the Window Control object? I could have sworn that came with TGF... I know it comes with C&C and MMF.

As such, I don't know if it's legal to just upload. Search for it a bit or something.

Um there are many extension archives but I'm not sure you can get THAT perticualar gox. Hmmmmm as Unknown Rabbit said search for it.

Unfortunetly with all this tutorials its 8 way movement and is vertical. I know there is a turtorial on a Sonic Fan games site but it is MMF only. I was looking for a platform movement horizontal one. Im still looking for the gox file

I programed a platform movement in TGF didn't need any gox's. Dowload it here: http://home.graffiti.net/sunfungames...net/engine.gam (just right click and save target as) You can use it hope it helps

Whoa. Waaaaaay buggy. I would suggest using detectors and Static movement instead.

(On a side note, your jumping is straight up and down and gives no sense of gravity.)

Yea I know that engine is pretty crap. I am working on a new one, that one was just an example to show a platform movement doesn't need plugins.

Im not sure yet but here is a prediction for when the demo will come out it's not certain as I may return to it to add a little bit more anyways here is the prediction 25/02/04. I have finished the levels for the demo 1 sp and 1 mp but I may update it to make it better. Anyways don't ask when the full thing will be out because that will take a lot of work because Im only 25% through SP and still have to make 6 levels each for 3 multiplay modes so thats 18 levels + 20 the game will turn out to have 38 + levels its quite hard for me but I'm trying this is my biggest project its even bigger than my Sonic fan game

Yea, it would be cool. Like "Center of Evil" by himself.

Anyway, make a lev where players are able to move Devan. E.g. escape from castle which is going to blow up. Yum, yum.

Well the MP mode contains Devan as a character if more people request it I will make a SP lvl or more for Devan or it may be an idea for JJA 2 if I make it

The date may be sooner

Well I have updated the Game and graphically changed it. I have updated alot of the background the text and mostly buttons and stuff. The demo looks very nice of course it be realeased as versions so It will get better. Bugs and things will be fixed as people report them and so it will turn out like

JJA V1.0
JJA V1.1

Then finally

JJA V10.0 Final Demo

But it may be less then that because its a small demo

Updates : Well as I have said I have changed the graphics and they look better. The full version is coming along pretty well but is getting hard because the story line is them now thrown out of the window and landing on Devans Cat :P Yes in this game devan has a cat. Hopefully it will consist of you riding a cat to a certain area then jumping on cars and stuff to get back to Devan who has grown big again. Yet again why not squash them.

News - I havn't updated the game lately but here is some updates just for you

Full Version

1. Change the menu graphics to the same as the demo
2. Start making Lori full animations
3. Start making Daven
4. Enhance the Devan flying mobile
5. Change all level icons to better ones
6. Maybe update the graphics in the levels
7. Start Devan's Cat level
8. Think of a new type of boss level
9. Make a new bad guy maybe a flea or something
10. Add in more extra lives (Theres not many)

Demo Version

1. Check it over
2. Add anything else to make it better
3. Upload it to a webpage for people to play
4. Look at comments and update the demo
5. Go back to No.1

Does anyone know of any sites which are as easy to use as geocities but not as rubbish as I don't really have any HTML skills and I just want to make a quick site for updates and screenies

Well use something like Open Office or Dreamweaver to make your site (very simple tools) and upload it somewhere like Geocitites, Tripod, Angle Fire or what ever.

I guess we are the game makers in this community oh yeah and ET but he doesnt come on here does he ?

Anyways i was wondering if it was possible to make it so like JJ2 you can change fur colour and stuff like that on TGF

Bah. I wouldn't be too surprised if I was better than either of you. (ET, of course, has only gotten better since JSR)

Anyway, TGF, no, not unless you make different active objects for each color. MMF supports color changes, though.

Well if you make the player and his sprite seperate objects this would be possible but that takes a bit of work so email me if you want to know how.

Are we forgetting me and the RF Wars? Personally, I like Game Maker more. It's faster, easier, and more stable. Most TGF games I play lack a sort of "unity". Paint drawn sprites, solid backgrounds, poor sound effects, no music, and difficult controls. Of course, this could be blamed on the programmer =P. I'm still looking forward to this game, and hope it gets farther than my last two attempts at a JJ2 fangame... er... three attempts.

Im happy with all my sprites... hmmm let me re phrase that

Im happy with Jazz , Spaz , Eva , Lori

Devan is a sprite which I will work on after the game has all its levels completed because it looks weird
