Dumb arcadeish game

I had this neat arcade game the other day. It plays like Tyrian in Arcade Mode, except horizontal and scrolls from the right. Basically, you're a white blood cell in some sick guy's circulatory system, and you have to fight off pathogens. At first you have a simple pea-shooter lysosome gun, but you can get better guns, including an antibody cannon, a viral manipulator engine (shoots virii at bacteria, reprogramming them to commit suicide), and a phagocyte gun that shoots a huge blob that swallows all the pathogens on the screen, a la Pacman.

At first you just kill bacteria and pollen, then you run into cancerous cells that you have to kill using lysosome guns, then you fight virii which turn other blood cells against you.

Haven't worked out the details yet, but I thought it was cool. What do you think? =D

Some virii should, instead of taking control of other cells and making them kill you or whatever, make the cells they enter explode into more virii. Like in real life, except faster!

The proper plural for virus is virii. Well, the Oxford English Dictionary and Webster-Merriam will tell you otherwise, but viruses (the listed "proper" plural) was coined by people who can't grasp Latin.

I thought we were talking English here, not Latin? The meaning of the Latin "virus" is something like "bad liquid" and had no plural form. Besides, according to Latin grammer (which I sadly have "studied" for almost 6 years) "virii" is the plural of "virius" (which I have never heard of) and not of "virus". The word that would come closest is "viri", which is also not the plural of virus, but IIRC of "vir", which means "man".

Document yourself a little more before you start talking about "people who can't grasp Latin".

The game idea sounds nice, but I doubt it hasn't been done before (which is ofcourse no reason not to make it). It'd be cool if it followed real biologics, though: for example, phagocyts should die if they swallow a toxic bacteria, or they would only be able to swallow a limited amount of them before dying.

Phagocytes are only on the screen once, and their effect is like TNT in JJ1. They're rare, though, and they don't swallow bosses/certain pathogens, so it's all good.

Also, "virus" means "poisonous slime."
